After Real Madrid Rejection | another Big Club refuses to sign United star
There was a time when every top European club seemed to be tearing itself around Manchester United star Paul Pogba. But it is apparently over. After the Frenchman is said to have been sidelined at Real Madrid, Barcelona also reportedly have no interest in signing him, as “Sport” reports.
According to the report, there were four players in the meeting between Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola and Barcelona Boss Joan Laporta: BVB star Erling Haaland (21), Noussair Mazraoui (24, Ajax), Xavi Simons (18, PSG) and also Pogba.
One thing is clear: In view of Barça’s dramatic financial problems, a Haaland transfer is out of the question. The conversation was informal in this regard. The club simply cannot afford Pogba because of his allegedly extremely high salary demands (almost 12 million pounds per year). The national player’s salary is said to have played a major role in Real’s refusal.
However, Barcelona should not want a Pogba deal not only for financial reasons, but also for his style of play. As “Sport” reported. It is believed that the Frenchman does not match the style of play of the new coach Xavi.
Pogba still has a contract with the “Red Devils” until the summer of next year only. United are also negotiating to extend the contract. But they still haven’t been able to reach an agreement.
Looks like Raiola has to move his “protégé” somewhere else.
