Chelsea join transfer hunt for Torino defender Gleison Bremer as they prepare for defensive exodus in summer
CHELSEA’S need to cover up a potential central defensive crisis has seen them add Torino’s Gleison Bremer to their list of possible targets.
The Blues could lose Antonio Rudiger, Andreas Christensen, Thiago Silva and Cesar Azpilicueta this summer when their contracts expire.
The club has yet to agree new terms with any of the quartet leaving them facing the threat of seeing all of them walk away from Stamford Bridge at the same time.
As a result, Chelsea are drawing up a list of potential replacements with Bremer, 24, high on their list of targets.
The European champions scouts are understood to have watched Bremer in action against Empoli last week and they have been impressed by the powerful defender.
Tottenham, West Ham and Liverpool have been linked with the Brazilian, but now Chelsea are ready to join the race for the talented centre back.
Bremer has impressed in Serie A with Torino after joining from Atletico Mineiro in 2018.
And the Italian club are bracing themselves for offers for Bremer as he enters the final 18 months of his contract at Torino.
Torino paid just £5.2million for the Brazilian’s services.
