Leicester City were heavily linked with a move for Sassuolo winger Domenico Berardi in the last summer transfer window.
With City on the lookout for a wideman during the summer months, reports claimed that Berardi was one of the players the club were looking at.
It was said that the Italian international, who impressed at Euro 2020, would cost a fee in the region of £35 million.
However, a summer move never materialised with City completing a deadline day loan deal for Red Bull Leipzig winger Ademola Lookman.
Reports earlier in the year claim that City have maintained their interest in the 27-year-old, despite the capture of Lookman, and that they are looking to reignite their interest with ‘in depth contacts’ being made ahead of the January window
Should that be the case then the latest reports from Italy over the winger’s future could come as a major boost to City’s hopes of bringing him to the King Power Stadium.
TuttoMercatoWeb claim that Sassuolo are now ready to sell Berardi during the January window, with the player looking to move on from the club where he has spent his entire career
The report also states that the Serie A side will be looking for a fee of around €25-30 million (£21-25.5 million) for the winger, a reduction of over £10 million from the reported asking price in the summer.
