Premier League actually richest club Newcastle United is apparently about to make the second winter transfer. As Sky Sports reports, the Magpies have drawn the release clause of Burnley striker Chris Wood – the transfer fee is around 25 million euros.
For Newcastle, which is currently penultimate in the English top league, it would be the second transfer after the takeover of investors. A few days ago, the club had signed Kieran Trippier from Atletico Madrid.

Wood could replace striker Callum Wilson after the club’s top scorer will be out for around two months with a calf injury, according to coach Eddie Howe.
It remains to be seen whether the 30-year-old New Zealand international will be able to fire the team out of the relegation zone. In the current season he has only three goals in 17 league games.
