Report: Chelsea could agree to sell £57m-rated World-Class midfielder this month
Jorginho arrived at Chelsea from the Serie A giants Napoli in the summer of 2018, following the Italian tactician Maurizio Sarri to Stamford Bridge.
The Blues parted company with the head coach after one season and since then, the Italo-Brazilian star has been linked with a return to Italy.
Sarri was in charge of Juventus last campaign and the defensive midfielder was heavily linked with a move to the Turin side, until the Old Lady sacked him after the end of the last campaign.
Joao Santos, the entourage of the Chelsea player had earlier admitted Maurizio was keen on signing his client for Bianconeri.
The agent has given another interview to the Naples-based radio station Radio Kiss Kiss, where he discussed his client’s plans with Italy in 2021.
“It was a great year for Jorge, he did very well in the national team as well. Next year there will be the European Championship, where he hopes to do very well with Italy,” Corriere dello Sport quoted Joao as saying.
“As for Chelsea, they are not very well placed in the table now, but being a young team, it takes time.”
Jorginho’s representative also stressed the 29-year-old star is happy at Chelsea and then followed it up by stating, “but he would certainly like to return to Italy at the end of the contract”.
His deal at Chelsea runs down in 2023 and Joao’s comments indicate the English side are not prepared to offer a new deal to the versatile midfielder.
Frank Lampard has not relied much on Jorginho in the last two months as the latter was left on the bench in six of the last nine league games.
