BVB star Jude Bellingham receives a fine of 40,000 euros from the DFB sports court for his referee criticism and luckily for BVB will not be banned.
Jude Bellingham Bundesliga Star (Borussia Dortmund) got away with a black eye for his much discussed referee match fixing statements after the top match between BVB and Bayern Munich (2-3).
The sports court of the German Football Association (DFB) has imposed a fine of 40,000 euros on Bellingham for “unsportsmanlike conduct”. The court did not issue a ban. Bellingham and BVB have accepted the judgment.
Bellingham attacks Felix Zwayer
Bellingham had attaced the referee Felix Zwayer (Berlin) hard in a interview at the Norwegian TV station Viaplay Fotball. “You give a referee who has already fixed games the biggest game in Germany. What do you expect?” Said the England international. In response, the DFB control committee initiated an imediate investigation.
Bellingham was clearly referring to events that went back 17 years ago. In 2004, according to the facts, Zwayer had accepted money as an assistant from the mastermind Robert Hoyzer. He later uncovered the scandal, and despite the ban, manipulation was never proven and the case was closed.
