Where is the future of Borussia Dortmund’s Supertalent Jude Bellingham?
According to the English “Mirror”, there are numerous interested parties for the English national player as Manchester United, Manchester City and Chelsea FC are also said to have their sights set on the 18-year-old. Liverpool hope to exploit Premier League rivals’ obsession with Borussia Dortmund team-mate Erling Haaland as the “Reds” are planning an offer of 105 Million Euros for Bellingham.
It would make Bellingham Liverpool’s most expensive ever signing ahead of Virgil Van Dijk, who cost around 90 Million Euros.
Master coach Jürgen Klopp is said to have set the youngster as a target to strengthen his midfield, where his main options include Jordan Henderson (31), and Fabinho (28).
But this seems not a easy deal for Liverpool as according to the German SPORT BILD, all efforts to convince Bellingham to make a move this summer will not be crowned with success. BVB will not let the midfielder go. His contract runs until 2025, and there are long-term plans with him.
In addition: It is hardly conceivable that Klopp will buy a star away from his (second) heart club. The coach trained the Revierklub from 2008 to 2015, during which time he won two championships and the DFB Cup.
Bellingham moved to BVB in the summer of 2020 as a 17-year-old and became an important part in BVB midfield in his first season. This season he is an indispensable part of the starting line-up. In November 2020 he made his debut in the English national team, he was part of the European Championship squad and has meanwhile played ten appearances for the “Three Lions”.
