Celtic told what to expect for Odsonne Edouard as ‘door opened’ for Aston Villa transfer

Aston Villa are being linked with Odsonne Edouard ahead of the summer transfer window and Celtic have been told to expect a vastly-reduced fee for the 23-year-old striker

Celtic have been told to expect a vastly-reduced transfer fee for Odsonne Edouard with the striker set to enter the final year of his contract.
Edouard is being linked with a number of Premier League clubs ahead of the summer transfer window including Aston Villa, who looked at the former France under-21 international last year before signing Ollie Watkins in a club-record deal.

The 23-year-old is enjoying another impressive season despite Celtic falling well behind Old Firm rivals Rangers, who wrapped up the Scottish Premiership title over the weekend with six games remaining.

Celtic interim manager John Kennedy admitted last week there is interest in the forward, who is expected to leave Celtic in the coming months.

“When you’ve got good, talented players, there’s always interest,” said Kennedy. “That’s what happens, you see it around Europe now in terms of big clubs making moves quicker on players, especially in Germany with Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund. They move very quickly on players and pay the fees early.

“I’ve no doubt there will be interest in Odsonne, as there was last season and all the time he’s been here because of the amount of talent he’s got.
“But ultimately the club will do the right thing for ourselves. We want to keep him for as long as we can because of the talent he’s got, and the ability he’s got.
