Aston Villa ‘weighing up’ Rangers transfer

Aston Villa have already made their big move in the January transfer window by signing Philippe Coutinho on loan from Barcelona.

Coutinho was confirmed as a Villa player on Friday morning with the player set to undergo a medical and fly into Birmingham to rubber-stamp the deal.
The arrival of Coutinho will herald a new direction in the transfer market for Villa with the pulling power of manager Steven Gerrard seen to full effect with the signing of the former Liverpool star.

Gerrard has been linked with a clutch of players from old side Rangers since he moved to Villa in November.

However, Glen Kamara continues to be mentioned as a potential option for Gerrard and The Sun have reported that the Villa boss is ‘weighing’ up the prospect of a move for the Finland international.

Kamara is a defensive midfielder, meaning he could replace the injured Marvelous Nakamba, and is highly-rated in Scotland.

Everton, Newcastle United and Southampton have also been credited with an interest in Kamara.
