Juventus could offer Aston Villa Moise Kean in sensational swap deal

Aston Villa have been linked with a move for Juventus striker Moise Kean by reports in Italy.

The forward returned to the Italian giants on loan from Everton last summer and scored six goals in all competitions, having been largely used as a substitute. Kean was signed by the Toffees for a potential €30million in 2019 but struggled in his sole season at Goodison Park, before being sent on loan to PSG for the 2020/21 campaign, where he scored 17 goals.

Kean is still an Everton player, but Juventus have an obligation to buy the Italy international this summer. However, it has been suggested that the Italian club may look to speed up the process and cash in on Kean, with Villa mooted as a possible destination for the 22-year-old.

It has been reported by Calcio Mercato that Steven Gerrard’s side are ‘on his trail’, with Juventus happy to let the striker leave having ‘not convinced’ boss Massimiliano Allegri this season. Villa are claimed to have ‘asked for information’ about the striker’s availability in the transfer window.

There is a further twist, however, as it is stated that Juventus could be ‘intrigued’ by a possible ‘exchange’ involving Douglas Luiz heading to Turin. The 24-year-old, who has also been touted for a move to Roma , is alleged to be valued at €30million and said to have been approached by the club in January.

It had previously been reported by Italian journalist Nicolo Schira that Kean would be allowed to leave Juventus and had attracted interest from two Premier League sides. Though it was said that PSG were no longer interested in bringing their former goalscorer back to the club.

Luiz has 12 months left on his Villa contract, though Steven Gerrard has been clear about his desire to keep the Brazil international . In the striker department, Villa already have Ollie Watkins and Danny Ings – as well as the returning Cameron Archer and Keinan Davis – but Gerrard has been linked with a move for his ex-Liverpool teammate Luis Suarez in recent weeks.
