Newcastle make official bid for Jesse Lingard

Man United have rejected a £5million-plus Newcastle United loan bid for Jesse Lingard, according to Football Insider

The Premier League giants are willing to offload the 29-year-old in this month’s window but are holding out for a permanent deal.

A recruitment source has told Football Insider this morning that Newcastle have submitted a loan offer to United worth more than £5million but it has been knocked back.

Lingard is believed to be very interested in joining the north-east big spenders and has been impressed by the ambition they have shown already this month.

He has rejected a new United contract and has set his sights on leaving the club when his contract expires this summer.

Since returning to Old Trafford, Lingard has struggled for game time.
