Newcastle ready to bid £45 million for another English player after signing Gordon

Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United are ready to pay £45 million for Leicester City attacking midfielder James Maddison, according to journalist Rudy Galetti on Twitter.

The Italian journalist has claimed that Newcastle are in talks with Premier League rivals Leicester over a move for Maddison in the final days of the January transfer window.

The Magpies are willing to pay £45 million for the England international, but Leicester want at least £55 million, according to Galetti.

Newcastle are on the verge of completing a £45 million deal for Everton winger Anthony Gordon, according to BBC Sport.

We believe that even for £55 million, the Englishman would be worth it for the Magpies.

Maddison is still only 26, and given his quality and progress over the years, we think that he would be able to make an immediate impact at Newcastle and get even better.

Eddie Howe’s side are in the running for the Premier League top four this season, and a player of Maddison’s quality and calibre would enhance their chances of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League.

The Leicester no. 10 has scored seven goals and given four assists in 13 Premier League starts so far this season.
