7. Atletico Madrid – €728.61m
Diego Simeone’s side have been quietly splashing the cash across each transfer window to sign new players. The biggest recruits have been Diego Costa, Rodri, Thomas Lemar and Joao Felix.
This has probably played a key part why Los Rojiblancos have been able to challenge Real Madrid and Barcelona. Although a fair few of their signings have turned to be flops in the last five years.
After losing several key men last summer, namely Antoine Griezmann and Lucas Hernandez, Atletico went on a big spending spree.
And while this new squad hasn’t quite gelled the way Simeone would’ve hoped, next season could give them the fresh start they desperately need.
