Tottenham have made a ‘formal offer’ to sign Memphis Depay from Barcelona this summer.

Memphis only arrived at Camp Nou at the end of last season but has fallen down the pecking order of late due to injuries and the arrivals of Adama Traore, Ferran Torres and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in January.

Overall, he has managed 10 goals and two assists in 19 La Liga appearances this season – although four of his strikes have come from the penalty spot.

According to Gerard Romero, despite spending two summers chasing the forward, Barça could already be ready to move on from Memphis.

La Blaugrana are keen to continue their squad rebuild this summer with 90min recently reporting that Andreas Christensen, Franck Kessie and Noussair Mazraoui are all close to joining on free transfers, while there is also hope of landing Cesar Azpilicueta from Chelsea.

Tottenham are said to have already submitted a proposal to Barça, but the player is yet to indicate whether he would be interested in the move
