Wolves: ‘Incredible’ £50m star could ‘sign after Cunha’

Wolverhampton Wanderers could land Manchester United defender Aaron Wan-Bissaka after Matheus Cunha’s expected arrival at Molineux, transfer insider Dean Jones has told GiveMeSport.

Wolves manager Julen Lopetegui is closing in on his first signing, and Jones thinks Wan-Bissaka could be his second addition

According to BBC Sport, Lopetegui is looking to bring in up to six new faces next month when the transfer window opens, including Wan-Bissaka and Cunha.

The latter is Molineux-bound, with Sky Sportsreporting that Wolves have agreed a loan deal with Atletico Madrid, and it appears that the former could be heading there as well.

The United right-back has seen little action under Erik ten Hag this season, making just one Premier League appearance so far, as per Transfermarkt.

An Old Trafford exit now looks inevitable for Wan-Bissaka, who is currently earning £90,000 a week, according Spotrac.

Jones thinks Wan-Bissaka could be the next player who Wolves try and bring in.

Speaking to GMS, the journalist said: “Cunha is the first step towards the six players they want in, and I think the Wan-Bissaka talk should be taken seriously – he could be one that comes in after Cunha. United are open to it and have spent too long waiting for an offer from [Crystal] Palace to land.”

Ultimately, if Lopetegui wants to sign a defensively solid right-back next month, then he probably will not find a better candidate than Wan-Bissaka. And with Wolves currently at the bottom of the Premier League table, the Midlands club need all the help they can get.
