Manchester United now open to sell Tottenham target for just £45M

Manchester United are open to selling winger Jadon Sancho for around £45million this summer amid interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

Jadon Sancho could be on the move this summer with Manchester United allegedly open to selling him this summer.

That is according to the Daily Mail, who claim that United may offload Sancho this summer.

It’s claimed that Sancho won’t be pushed out and United would be happy for him – alongside a couple of other squad players – to stay and fight for their places.

Yet if United receive an offer of around £45million, they would be open to selling Sancho this summer.

That’s a major drop in price for Sancho, who cost United a staggering £73million from Borussia Dortmund just two years ago.

Sancho hasn’t lived up to expectations since that move and his numbers have taken a major hit.

Sancho racked up 64 assists and 50 goals in 137 games for Dortmund; his record for United now stands at just six assists and 12 goals in 79 games.

With Euro 2024 on the horizon, the 23-year-old may be tempted to leave United and have a fresh start elsewhere – maybe with Tottenham Hotspur.

Reports from the Daily Star earlier this month suggested that Tottenham were looking into a move for Sancho.

The Times added just days later that Tottenham have ‘registered an interest’ in signing Sancho.

Tottenham may well be in the market for another winger this summer with Lucas Moura and Arnaut Danjuma both gone.

Sancho can play on either flank and even as a number 10, so Ange Postecoglou could see some value in signing him.

£45million would take a big chunk out of Tottenham’s budget, but if Postecoglou can get Sancho back to his best, this could be a bargain.

This would also be a move some years in the making; The Mirror reported in 2017 that Tottenham wanted to sign Sancho from Manchester City.

A request to throw him into the deal for Kyle Walker failed but Spurs could finally land Sancho six years on – and for £28million less than United forked out for him.
