Milan agrees terms with Argentinian talent

River Plate emerging star Enzo Fernandez has said yes to a transfer to AC Milan. The Argentine dynamo midfielder has an €18 million release clause.

AC Milan are looking again at River Plate for reinforcements. The Rossoneri were very close to securing Julian Alvarez in January but the striker ended up at Manchester City. However, another River Plate has attracted their attention. AC Milan are in talks to sign Enzo Fernandez this summer.

Tuttosport reports that that 21-year-old midfield sensation Enzo Fernandez has said yes to AC Milan. The Rossoneri had a recent blitz in Argentine where very positive talks were held with the new River Plate star according to the Italian newspaper.

AC Milan head scout, Geoffrey Moncada, has traveled to Argentine on a number of occasions and was reportedly impressed by the talented central midfielder. Fernandez is a box-to-box operator in the purest sense. The powerful midfielder with a keen eye for goal has been in sensational form scoring 8 goals and assisting 6 in the last 20 appearances with River.

Enzo Fernandez has given the green light to a transfer to AC Milan but the Italian champions have yet to make contact with River Plate. That’s primarily because the Rossoneri have been forced to halt all their incoming transfers due to the club’s sale that’s expect to take place shortly. After the change of ownership is completed, Maldini will be able to move freely on the mercato.

But there is another another motive for the lack of contact between AC Milan and the Argentinian club. Enzo Fernandez has a release clause of around 18 million euros and River Plate will not accept anything less for their most prized asset. The Rossoneri need to hurry up in order to avoid the competition of other important clubs like what happened with Alvarez. Real Madrid, Manchester City and Sevilla are also interested in the 21-year-old.
