Rangers weren’t the only ones watching on with some of Europe’s top clubs, such as Ajax, Manchester United, Dortmund, Inter Milan, and Everton, all attending.

With a plethora of young talent on show the watching scouts were treated to a fine game as Vincent Kompany’s side ran out 3-1 winners over Charleroi.

Israeli attacking midfielder Lior Refaelov – familiar to Gers fans from games against Royal Antwerp last season – opened the scoring for Anderlecht with young Spanish talent Sergio Gomez netting a double.

Marco Ilaimaharitra got the goal for Charleroi.

According to the Scotsman, Gomez has been loosely linked to Rangers in the past but could any scouting mission be more associated with Francis Amuzu?

Rangers-linked Francis Amuzu starts in Anderlecht victory

Rewind to January 2021 and Belgian U21 international Francis Amuzu was being heavily linked with a move to Rangers in Belgium.

Belgian outlet Voetbal24 claimed last season that Rangers were considering a substantial bid for the player with Sports World claiming that Francis Amuzu has a £3.6m release clause.

The pacey winger, 22, plays off the right and is of Ghanian descent but his involvement in the Belgian youth set-up is a nod to the potential of the talented youngster.

Francis Amuzu played 80 minutes of the match against Charleroi – were the visiting Rangers scouts impressed with what they seen?

Francis Amuzu has made 16 league appearances for Anderlecht this season, six of those from the start, and has scored two goals and laid on three assists in the Belgian top flight this campaign.
