Rangers to make a move to bring 14 goals striker at Ibrox

Rangers and Celtic want Stephen Odey from Randers this summer as the two clubs consider their striking options.

Celtic managed to wrestle the Scottish Premiership title back from Rangers this past season but need to kick on in Europe.

That means Ange Postecoglou’s men can’t afford to slack off and really need to make some important signings this summer.

As for Rangers, they reached the Europa League final but clearly need to add quality to Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s squad.

Whether Alfredo Morelos stays or leaves, Rangers must add another striker this summer and Odey is emerging as a target.

All Nigeria Soccer report that both Rangers and Celtic have now made moves to sign Randers striker Odey this summer.

It’s stated that Celtic approached Randers to ask about signing Odey but have yet to make a bid or open negotiations.

Rangers, on the other hand, have held preliminary talks with Randers over a potential deal for Odey

Rangers know that Morelos could move on and with Jermain Defoe and Cedric Itten no longer in the picture, another striker is needed.

Odey, 24, has bagged 14 goals in 33 games for Randers having joined on loan from Genk, but a permanent deal has already been sorted.

The Nigerian attacked showed promise with Zurich before heading to Genk in 2019, but he hasn’t become a key player with Genk.

Odey spent time on loan at Amiens in the 2020-21 season before heading to Denmark last summer.

Odey may well be sold for a quick profit this summer but Randers have rejected €3million (£2.6million) for Odey.

They want €4million (£3.4million) for Odey, which should fit into the budgets of both Celtic and Rangers.
