Real Madrid tempted to sign Leicester defender
Real Madrid have reportedly earmarked Leicester City defender Caglar Soyuncu as a potential £38 Million signing according to reports.
Turkish media outlet Fanatik reports that Real are set to act on their long-term interest in Soyuncu by making an official approach for the player. It was claimed earlier this year that Real are keen on Soyuncu, who has also been linked with a move to their La Liga rivals Barcelona and Premier League giants Liverpool.
Conversations need to be had over Soyuncu’s future with the 25 year-old out of contract at the end of next season.
This summer is the last window City could get a fee for Soyuncu, given that his status as a free agent next summer means he could negotiate a pre-contract agreement with an overseas side in January.
Only as recently as March did Soyuncu outline his wish to continue playing in the Premier League.
“Our performance as a team has not been at the desired level this season,” he told the Turkish media. “We’ve had a good period as a team in the past one-and-a-half months.
“Everything is going well right now and I’m happy to be playing. I am happy to play in the Premier League and I want to stay in England as long as I can – my contract continues.
“It’s very nice to play with top level players. I can be a better example to the young people after me, I can help more.
