RedBull Salzburg defender Rasmus Kristensen has emerged as a target for Leeds United – a player Jesse Marsch predicted to make a big move, in 2021. The Whites are preparing a potential £10million deal for the Dane.

As per Fabrizio Romano a deal was agreed between Leeds and Salzburg

Full agreement set to be reached between Leeds and RB Salzburg for Rasmus Kristensen. Danish right-back’s expected to join Leeds in the coming days, once final details will be resolved. 🇩🇰🤝 #LUFC

Kristensen will be able to undergo medical tests after international duty.

Kristensen, 24, has been in sensational form for Salzburg this season, clocking up a huge 18 goal involvements in 44 appearances. Incredible stats, given he is a right-back. He has 32 goals and assists in 109 Salzburg games.

Phil Hay reports that Leeds are looking at a deal to land the Denmark international, with a fee of £10million required. He has a contract at Salzburg until the summer of 2025 – but a move is expected this summer.

Of course, it would mean a reunion between Kristensen and Marsch, who signed him for Salzburg from Ajax in 2019. Back in 2021, Marsch raved about the defender and predicted Kristensen to make a big move soon.

“Rasmus is one of our best players this season, he has had so much development in the last two years. He’s playing so well, he’s so fit. I think he’s ready for a great move. In a year or even earlier,” Marsch told Krone.

He would be a wonderful signing. Luke Ayling has been a wonderful servant to Leeds, but he turns 31 in August and a long-term replacement is required. Leeds need a right-back and Kristensen would be perfect.

Not only would he form a reunion with the man that signed him for Salzburg, but also Brenden Aaronson – who has now signed for Leeds. He gives Leeds a threat from the right, he gives Leeds a long-term solution.

Many will argue he has only been playing in Austria, but he has starred in the Champions League too. Turning 25 in July, he is six years younger than Ayling, but just as good, if not better
